We’re excited to announce our latest product upgrade out today, which includes some key enhancements to Xeround’s Cloud Database service.

First and foremost, we’ve achieved SIGNIFICANT performance improvements:

Check out the updated benchmark comparing our service to Amazon’s RDS (single, and Multi-A-Z) and to Rackspace’s MySQL cloud database.

Tests were conducted on the actual cloud live environment to make sure there was no environment-specific bias, using standard DBT-2 database benchmark application.

See how this latest release compares to our previous one, and to RDS’ performance:

  2. MySQL version upgraded to 5.5.20
  3. Xeround BASIC edition now supports restore-from-backup capability
  4. Caching of static tables and Btree indexes
