A new tutorial for Pennyworth has arrived.  For those of you who haven't heard of this obscure tool from the DevOps community, it's a continuous packager that is built around Chef, Jenkins, and the "effing package manger".

At Heavy Water operations we have been working on a Jenkins based continuous deployment system we’ve named Pennyworth. Should you choose to evaluate pennyworth, any project you desire can be automatically tested, packaged and included in an appropriate repository available for automated installation and deployment with APT (hopefully via Chef!)

The tutorial will walk you through:

  • Installation
  • Vagrant tuning
  • Working in Jenkins
  • Adding a pennyworth job with data bags

If it's not descriptive enough for you, the writers at Heavy Water encourage you to contact them with questions.
